Sic transit gloria reginaI was saddened today to hear that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother passed away on Saturday. I'll miss her fabulous hats, her strangely dowdy-yet-glamorous suits, her sweet maternal smile that made the whole concept and practice of monarchy seem kinder and more familiar. The anglophile in me shall shed a (silent, of course) tear for her passing. It's the end of an era.
